Opening the AI-Assistant
On the test editing page, click the Create with AI button (the chat icon at the bottom of the screen). This opens the AI chat panel where you can type prompts or upload files.Generating Questions from a Prompt
Describe the topic, audience, and difficulty level. The AI will generate questions and add them directly to your test. Tips for better results:- Be specific about the topic. “JavaScript async/await error handling for senior developers” gets better results than “JavaScript”.
- Mention the audience. “Questions for a recruitment screening test for junior support agents” helps the AI calibrate difficulty.
- Describe the question style. Tell the AI if you want scenario-based questions, definitional questions, or practical application questions.
- Start with a few manual questions. The AI picks up on your style and generates more consistent questions the more context it has.
- Iterate. If a question is too vague, reference it: “The last question was too brief — make it more specific with a realistic scenario.”
- Build on what works. If a question is good: “Generate 5 more questions in this format, covering the topic of database indexing.”
Importing Questions from Documents
Upload an existing document and the AI will extract the questions automatically. Supported formats: PDF, Word (.docx), JSON, TXT, Markdown (.md) Go to My Tests → Create Test → Import Questions, select your file, and the AI processes it. This is useful when you have existing test materials, training documents, or procedure guides you want to turn into assessments. For example:- Upload an internal policy document → AI generates knowledge-check questions from it
- Upload a certification study guide → AI extracts practice questions
- Upload a competitor’s sample test (in supported format) → AI imports the questions
Importing Questions from Screenshots
You can paste or upload a screenshot directly into the AI chat. The AI will recognize the question text and answer options from the image and add them to your test. This works well for importing questions from photos of printed materials, slides, or screen captures.Generating Questions from Documents via Chat
For more control, you can upload a document directly into the AI chat and ask it to generate questions — rather than extracting existing ones. This is especially useful for creating knowledge assessments from your own materials:“Here is our onboarding guide for support agents. Generate 15 single-choice questions to test whether new hires understand the key procedures.”The AI reads the document and writes original questions based on its content.
Auto-Generating Explanations
On the test editing page, you can ask the AI to generate an explanation for any question. Explanations help applicants understand why an answer is correct or incorrect — useful for learning-oriented tests. You can generate explanations one by one or ask the AI to generate them for all questions at once.AI Usage Limits
